The Porter plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Byerly RV Service department by assisting in the movement of vehicles and performing general support tasks. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the lot and vehicles are well-organized, clean, and accessible. The Porter will also support service technicians and staff with tasks related to vehicle transportation and general shop cleanliness. Key Responsibilities: - Vehicle Movement: Safely move RVs and other vehicles around the lot and service area to designated spots in a timely manner.
- Lot Organization: Ensure the lot is well-maintained and organized for efficient workflow, making sure vehicles are in their proper locations.
- Transport: Drive vehicles to various locations as needed, such as between the dealership and other service centers or for customer drop-offs.
- Shop Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized shop environment, including sweeping, trash disposal, and general upkeep, & cleaning up pools of water on the shop floor.
- Support Technicians: Help technicians by gathering tools, parts, or assisting with moving larger items as needed.
- Fueling and Fluids: Ensure vehicles have sufficient fuel and fluid levels when needed.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally assist customers with vehicle parking or retrieving RVs for service appointments.
- RV Show Coordination: Assist in RV coordination for our two annual RV Shows
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications: - Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Forklift: Must have prior experience with operating a forklift. Must be able to take and pass Forklift Certification provided by Byerly RV
- Propane: Must be able to take and pass Amerigas Propane Filling and Dispensing Certification facilitated by Byerly RV.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep the lot and shop area neat and orderly.
- Team Player: Willingness to assist others and take on varying tasks as needed.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring prompt movement of vehicles.
- Must be comfortable moving and driving large vehicles such as RVs and motorhomes.
Preferred Experience: - Prior experience in a service or dealership environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of RVs or similar vehicles is an advantage.
