WHY ELITE?
Elite Amenity Management is a full-service amenity management company based in New York City. We specialize in providing residential and commercial properties with high-end, personalized amenities and services. Our team of experienced professionals provides a wide range of services, including management, wellness services, design, and much more, creating a great amenity experience for each client. ELITE exists to make ordinary days feel extraordinary by transforming shared spaces into sanctuaries of health, well-being, and genuine connection with dedication and passion.
We are looking for a highly motivated and hospitality-driven Part-Time Porter / Freight Attendant to join our on-site operations team. This role is more than standard cleaning. You will keep amenity spaces presentation-ready, operate freight service for vendors and deliveries, and provide short-term coverage at the security desk.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Direct workers, vendors, and deliveries—including catering—through the freight elevator only.
- Enforce freight access rules. Visitors, ticket holders, and unauthorized guests are not permitted on freight unless approved by building leadership.
- Operate the freight elevator safely: respect weight capacity, level the car before opening the gate, and follow gate and landing procedures.
- Give confirmed vendors access to the freight landing only—not the tenant floor—unless instructed otherwise.
- Route heavy packages, contractors, and oversized deliveries to freight.
- Dust-mop, mop, and vacuum freight-side areas, the gym, and the yoga room. Disinfect equipment and radiators when users are not present.
- Clean the club, bar, and amenity space, including hallways, liquor cabinets, stools, tables, and bar surfaces. Vacuum rugs and mop lightly behind the bar and kitchen.
- Work around residents and guests. Do not interrupt meetings or amenity rentals.
- Check restrooms and second-floor common areas. Restock toilet paper, C-fold towels, soap, and liners. Clear trash and address spills or standing water in showers.
- Follow restroom-entry protocol: knock, announce entry, and do not enter if anyone is present.
- Mop the mechanical room and return all cleaning equipment to the basement so amenity users do not see clutter.
- Inspect spaces as you go and report safety issues, damage, or supply shortages to site management.
- Verify every visitor and log them into the building system before they access a tenant floor. Call specified floors for approval before sending a visitor up.
- Place individual food deliveries in the cubbies behind the security post.
- Allow mail carriers upstairs. Amazon couriers may go upstairs only with a small number of handheld packages; otherwise send them to freight.
- Follow training on elevator recall, gate barriers, and the fire command panel. Silence the panel only when instructed.
- Perform regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards are consistently met.
- Manage and restock cleaning and maintenance supplies for efficient operations.
- Collaborate with the management team to address and resolve any maintenance or cleanliness-related issues promptly.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a porter, housekeeper, building attendant, freight attendant, or similar facilities role.
- Comfort operating or learning freight elevator procedures, including weight limits, leveling, and gate safety.
- Ability to follow access-control and visitor-verification procedures accurately.
- Working knowledge of sanitation, chemical use, and slip-prevention practices.
- Clear communication and a calm, professional presence with residents, vendors, and visitors.
- Ability to work independently on a structured hourly schedule and as part of an on-site team.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for most of the shift; bend, reach, mop, and vacuum; and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Reliability and punctuality for an early morning start.
- Willingness to complete site training on freight operations, restroom protocol, visitor systems, elevator recall, and the fire command panel.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Prior freight, package room, front desk, or security-relief experience is a plus.
WHAT WE OFFER
- $18.50 to $20.00 an hour
- Weekly Pay
- 401(k) with matching contribution for eligible employees.
- Comprehensive on-the-job training.
