A well-established owner, operator, and developer of multifamily residential properties is hiring a Porter to support its Philadelphia portfolio. We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Porter to support the daily upkeep and appearance of a residential property. This individual will play an important role in keeping common areas, grounds, and shared spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
-Maintain cleanliness of building common areas, including hallways, lobbies, stairwells, elevators, and shared spaces
-Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors throughout the property
-Remove trash and recycling from designated areas and keep trash rooms clean and organized
-Clean and maintain exterior areas, sidewalks, entrances, and surrounding property grounds
-Assist with seasonal property upkeep, including snow and ice removal when needed
-Clean windows, doors, fixtures, and other common-area surfaces
-Monitor common areas for maintenance or safety concerns and report issues to property management or maintenance staff
-Assist maintenance personnel with basic property-related tasks as needed
-Help prepare common areas and units for resident move-ins, move-outs, or property inspections
-Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and storage areas in an organized and safe manner
-Respond to property needs professionally while working around residents, vendors, and other team members
Key Requirements
-Previous porter, janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or property maintenance experience preferred
-Ability to perform physical work throughout the day, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials
-Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
-Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks independently
-Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and property appearance
-Dependable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent work schedule
-Professional attitude when interacting with residents and property staff
Key Qualifications
-Experience working in an apartment community, residential building, hotel, commercial property, or similar environment is a plus
-Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safe cleaning procedures
-Ability to identify and report basic maintenance or safety concerns
-Strong work ethic and willingness to assist the property team wherever needed
-Ability to manage multiple daily responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively
