A well-established owner, operator, and developer of multifamily residential properties is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Porter to support its Philadelphia portfolio.
The Porter will play an important role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the apartment community. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can manage daily responsibilities independently, and is committed to providing residents and visitors with a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform general interior and exterior cleaning throughout the property
-Clean building common areas including hallways, lobbies, corridors, stairways, restrooms, community rooms, fitness areas, and other shared spaces
-Clean model apartments and vacant units as needed
-Sweep, scrub, mop, and vacuum a variety of floor surfaces
-Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuums and carpet-cleaning equipment
-Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
-Wash windows, walls, woodwork, doors, and other surfaces as needed
-Dust and clean window blinds
-Wax and polish applicable flooring and surfaces
-Remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout assigned areas
-Utilize cleaning tools and equipment including mops, buckets, vacuum cleaners, shampooers, and push carts
-Monitor common areas for cleanliness, maintenance, or safety concerns and report issues to property management
-Maintain cleaning equipment, supplies, and storage areas in an organized and safe manner
-Assist the property and maintenance teams with additional property-related duties as needed
-Complete other related tasks as requested by management
Key Qualifications
-Previous porter, janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, apartment, or property maintenance experience preferred
-Dependable, reliable, and able to consistently follow through on assigned responsibilities
-Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and overall property appearance
-Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a professional and timely manner
-Customer-service-oriented approach when interacting with residents, vendors, management, and other team members
-Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain a professional demeanor
-Basic familiarity with cleaning products, tools, equipment, and safe cleaning procedures
-Ability to identify and report basic maintenance or safety concerns
-Strong work ethic and willingness to assist the property team wherever needed
-Ability to manage multiple daily responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively
-Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Physical Requirements
-Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods
-Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, lift, and climb stairs
-Ability to perform physical cleaning and property upkeep throughout the workday
-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
-Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors when required
