Summary:The Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility, performing minor repairs, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Language Ability: The Porter/Custodian should have effective communication skills to convey information clearly and courteously to staff, residents, and visitors, both verbally and in writing. They must be able to understand and follow instructions from supervisors regarding cleaning procedures and safety protocols. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for addressing questions or concerns professionally. While not required, proficiency in additional languages is a plus for engaging with a diverse community.
Math Ability: The Porter/Custodian should have basic math skills to perform tasks such as measuring cleaning solutions, calculating quantities for supplies, and managing inventory levels. They should be able to handle simple addition and subtraction for tracking stock and completing work orders accurately. Additionally, the ability to interpret numerical data related to maintenance schedules and service requests is beneficial for efficient workflow management.
Reasoning Ability: The Porter/Custodian should demonstrate strong reasoning skills to identify problems and determine appropriate solutions in a timely manner. This includes the ability to assess situations, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and make sound decisions regarding maintenance and cleaning protocols.
