Description
The Retail Store Application Specialist supports the deployment, integration, and ongoing operation of co-op applications used by member stores and store chains. This role works closely with store members, internal teams, POS vendors, and service providers to understand store needs, support quality implementations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure co-op solutions integrate effectively with multiple point-of-sale systems and store operations.
Job Description:
Configure co-op applications and support data integrations with store POS systems.
Support new store onboarding, conversions, implementations, and related setup activities.
Assist store personnel with POS setup, personalization, hardware implementation, and integration readiness.
Provide Level 2 support for member stores and escalate issues according to defined procedures.
Gather store requirements, document needs, and serve as a liaison between stores and application teams throughout the SDLC.
Monitor data integrations and take corrective action to resolve issues.
Participate in QA and user acceptance testing for system changes impacting store operations.
Develop store communications, training materials, and implementation support as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, usability, processes, and store support.
Coordinate with IT Field teams, POS vendors, and service providers to resolve store requests and support onsite needs.
Qualifications:
Education & Background
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field.
Skills & Competencies
5+ years of Point-of-Sale technology experience.
Experience with full POS implementations in a retail environment.
SAP S/4 / PI experience; grocery or consumer retail experience preferred.
Ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements clearly.
Strong understanding of store, item, pricing, customer, and shopper data integrations with POS systems.
Experience providing Level 2 store support; ITIL knowledge a plus.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of SDLC and full lifecycle implementations.
Experience creating testing scenarios and scripts to support quality implementations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with store members, colleagues, vendors, and service providers; multilingual a plus.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to support cross-functional priorities, implementations, and issue resolution.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, for tracking, reporting, analysis, and follow-up.
Ability to diagnose incident root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Experience with customer loyalty solution setup and maintenance.
Ability to supervise, train, or support team members as needed.
