The Psychology and Health Lab at Syracuse University is looking to hire a part-time (20 hours/week) Postbaccalaureate Research Assistant who will work alongside other research staff on federally funded psychology research projects at Syracuse University. This is a great opportunity to gain competitive research experience for those seeking to apply to graduate programs in psychology and related fields. The Postbaccalaureate RA will be primarily assisting with an NIH-funded randomized clinical trial of a combined alcohol and trauma treatment for women with HIV.

This position is anticipated to be filled on a fully remote basis if the identified candidate is not currently located in the Syracuse, NY area (within 50 miles). Not all geographical areas within the United States are eligible. Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required in an area of project management, health, social, or behavioral sciences; prior experience and interest in managing and/or conducting research in the field of social science and health; demonstrated evidence of organizational and management skills and attention to detail; strong writing and verbal skills; strong interpersonal skills.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience working in a research lab in the health, social, or behavioral sciences; experience working in a lab that includes that includes federally funded human subjects behavioral, health-related and/or psychological research studies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, and assessments in collaboration with other research staff members and graduate students.
  • Assisting with the management of human subject regulations defined by SU and the federal government that pertain to research studies under the supervision of the faculty supervisors.
  • Assisting the faculty supervisors with IRB (approvals, amendments, and renewals) and NIH (progress reports, Data Safety and Monitoring Boards, and Data Sharing) documents.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks including coordinating weekly project meetings, drafting and maintaining meeting minutes and project to-do-lists, assisting with data quality, assisting processing of biospecimen kits and samples.
  • Other duties as assigned, including mentorship and training of undergraduate research assistants
