Job Description
We are seeking a Post Closing Specialist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential mortgage post-closing, document remediation, and investor delivery and a proven ability to identify and resolve defects, ensure salability, and manage risk within established guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze closing package defects, determine related issues, and remediate per documented procedures using internal and external resources.
- Accurately annotate findings and actions in the Mortgage Loan Origination System.
- Retrieve final documents from settlement agents, lenders, and county clerk offices for investor delivery.
- Validate and audit final documents against state, county, and investor guidelines and system records.
- Communicate with internal and external customers and third parties to meet conditions and regulatory requirements.
- Record, monitor, and report deficiencies and required remedies, including resolution steps.
- Ensure deficiencies are resolved and documentation is received within deadlines.
- Image and deliver retrieved or corrected documents to appropriate departments using tracking software.
- Validate, communicate, and remediate salability issues so closed loans can be sold on the Secondary Market.
- Discern system issues and report findings to management for escalation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in closing, post-closing, processing, or real estate documentation within a title company or financial institution preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to proactively resolve problems and manage time in a process-centered environment.
- Attention to detail with the ability to meet production deadlines and organize work effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with mortgage loan origination and servicing systems.
- Familiarity with investor guidelines and Secondary Market delivery requirements.
