A postdoctoral scholar will work on combining density functional theory calculations and machine learning (ML) to model the life-cycle stability in beyond-lithium ion batteries.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
Required Certification Licensure Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in scientific programming, atomistic simulations, and/or ML.
Experience in LiS coin cell battery synthesis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research environment are essential.
Job Duties
Performing simulations using quantum mechanical-based methods implemented in standard software. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 30
Synthesis and preparation of coin-cell batteries. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 50
Preparation of manuscripts via compiling, plotting, analyzing, discussing, and communicating results. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 20
