    Title Post-Doctoral Fellow in Chemistry and Chemical Biology (Nocera Lab) School Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department/Area Chemistry and Chemical Biology Position Description

    The Nocera lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the research program to explore radical-based mechanistic enzymology, studying PCET within ribonucleotide reductase (RNR). This position is ideally suited for a candidate interested in an interdisciplinary approach using tools from biochemistry (UAA incorporation and protein labeling), steady-state and transient biophysical spectroscopies (i.e. transient laser spectroscopy), organic synthesis, and electrochemistry.

    Responsibilities:

    Performs research and/or development in collaboration with others

    Optimize and investigate new methods and technologies

    Prepare manuscripts, present findings at scientific meetings, and contribute to grant applications.

    Participate in teaching and mentoring activities for undergraduate and graduate students.

    Basic Qualifications

    1. A Ph.D. in biochemistry, immunology, chemical or molecular biology or related field and 0+ years of experience

    2. Demonstrated record of research achievement.

    3. Strong written and oral communication skills.

    4. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment.
