We seek a highly qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate with cell and molecular biology and biochemistry expertise to work on an NSF-funded project. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct cutting-edge research to understand the signaling and molecular mechanisms of protein-protein interactions and cellular functions downstream of the Hippo pathway in mammalian cell model systems.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., MD/PhD, DVM, or an equivalent degree in biological sciences. Significant experience in mammalian cell culture, signal transduction, gene regulation, and protein biochemistry are required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Job Description
Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work to be performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
General Function (Description):
The Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRA) will be responsible for conducting molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and cell biology research on a project funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The PRA will design and execute laboratory experiments and analyze and interpret experimental data. Additionally, the PRA is expected to utilize cutting-edge technologies and develop innovative ideas that advance current research.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Conduct molecular biology and protein biochemistry experiments, including nucleic acid purification, cloning, immunoassays, and mammalian cell cultures. • Assist in designing experimental protocols for laboratory personnel and maintaining the laboratory environment. • Maintain legible records of all experiments conducted and detailed interpretations of the data obtained. • Help train graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques and protocols.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient in performing scientific calculations relevant to experimental work. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep detailed records. • Capable of carrying out tasks independently. • Knowledgeable in mammalian cell culture, in vivo biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunochemical techniques. • Competent in safely handling chemical and biohazardous materials. • Able to comprehend and follow oral and written scientific instructions. • Proficient in writing and verbally communicating scientific data at a professional level. • Familiar with institutional and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations. • Skilled in operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
Minimum Hiring Standards:
Education:
Ph.D., M.D., MD/PhD, DVM, or an equivalent degree in biological sciences
Years of Experience Required:
One to four years of previous laboratory experience and must have published one first-authored manuscript in relevant areas to listed job duties.
Years of Management/Supervisor Experience:
Experience in supervising undergraduate and/or graduate students is preferred.
