Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist the PI in preparation of grant proposals to state, federal, or NGO sponsors (drafting text, compiling literature, preparing figures/tables, and assembling submission materials). Prepare and contribute to manuscripts and conference presentations arising from assigned projects, including literature synthesis, data analysis support, figure preparation, and draft revisions.

Percentage of time 70 Duties/Responsibilities

Assist in preparation of progress reports and deliverables for funding agencies on research activities as directed by the PI. Prepare applications and manage reporting for required permits and approvals (e.g., IACUC, state DNR, federal permits) for projects as directed by the PI. Develop and manage project-specific budgets, track expenditures, and prepare budget justifications or revisions as assigned. Ensure compliance with institutional, sponsor, and legal requirements for research conduct, recordkeeping, and reporting.

Oversee and train technicians, students, or field assistants when needed to ensure quality and consistency of research operations.

The Beasley lab at the Savannah River Ecology Lab (SREL) and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia is soliciting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Wildlife Ecology. There are current opportunities for the selected postdoc to participate in and lead research efforts in a number of ongoing projects related to the Ecology and management of invasive wild pigs, Ecology and conservation of African carnivores, and a multitude of other current and upcoming projects in the Beasley lab.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

PhD in Ecology or relevant field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Knowledge of research management and execution, grant support, regulatory compliance, and budget management.

Physical Demands

Lift 50 lbs.
