Job Summary
We are seeking a Postal Clerk to join our team! As a Postal Clerk, you will be receiving packages and letters, weighing them, recording the information, and ensuring everything is labeled correctly to reach its final destination. You will also be taking payments for shipments or packaging supplies, keeping the postal office clean and organized, and assisting customers with questions on mailing, packages, materials, and more. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, strong customer service skills, and can work well in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Weigh and record incoming packages and letters, recording the information
- Ensure every piece of mail that comes across your counter is labeled correctly to ensure delivery
- Accept appropriate payments for packages and packaging supplies
- Maintain a clean, safe office
- Answer questions and assist customers as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Understanding of the mail system is beneficial
- Strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with computers and basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Office suite
