The Postdoctoral Fellow will work under the supervision of faculty in the Endocrine Neoplasia and Hormonal Disorders Program to support clinical research activities focused on bone health in cancer patients and individuals with mastocytosis. The fellow will participate in the review and analysis of clinical data, assist with research conducted by the mastocytosis program, and contribute to projects aimed at improving understanding of bone disease and skeletal health within these patient populations.
The postdoctoral fellow will work under the mentorship of Dr. Guise. Key responsibilities will include:
• Review and abstract clinical data from electronic medical records and research databases.
• Conduct retrospective reviews of clinical records for cancer patients at risk for bone disease.
• Assist in data collection, organization, and quality assurance activities for approved research studies.
• Support research initiatives related to bone health in patients with mastocytosis.
• Compile and maintain research datasets.
• Assist with data interpretation and preparation of research summaries.
• Contribute to development of reports, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for scientific dissemination.
• Participate in research meetings and present project updates as requested.

*LEARNING OBJECTIVES*
The fellowship aims to provide the trainee with a comprehensive understanding of the biology and pathology of cancer bone metastasis, with a particular focus on the following:
• Engage in educational activities related to endocrinology, bone metabolism, oncology, and clinical research.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams.
• Develop skills in clinical investigation, research methodology, and scientific communication.
• Hypothesis formulation and testing: Developing and validating scientific hypotheses through experimental design and valuable data.
• Scientific communication: Enhancing skills in presenting findings through written publications, oral presentations, and grant writing, with the goal of translating research discoveries into clinical applications.
*ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS*
Applicants must hold a recent Ph.D. or MD. degree in a field relevant to cancer research, molecular biology, physiology, or a related discipline.
The candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to full-time laboratory research, with aspirations toward an independent academic or research career. Candidates with an M.D. or equivalent are not permitted to participate in patient care activities during the fellowship.
