Postdoc fellows are being sought to apply quantitative fluorescence imaging (e.g, TIRF, PALM, FCS) to studies of human retrovirus particle biogenesis.

Postdoctoral Fellow - Cryoelectron Microscopy & Human Retroviruses

Postdoctoral Fellows are sought to join an interdisciplinary research team (Profs. Louis Mansky and Wei Zhang) using cryoelectron microscopy/tomography (cryo-EM/ET) to investigate human retrovirus (HIV & HTLV) particle structure and morphogenesis.

Successful recruits will acquire extensive training and experience in cryo-EM/ET, and will join a strongly interactive, collaborative and collegial research environment. Minneapolis is a dynamic and progressive city with outstanding cultural attractions and a high standard of living.

A robust career development program will be individually crafted for each postdoctoral fellow, which will emphasize not only research excellence, but also acquiring excellence in other skill sets to enhance successful job placement following the completion of their postdoctoral studies. An Individualized Development Plan (IDP) will be utilized to help chart progress, celebrate achievements, and address deficiencies. A key objective is to ensure that Postdoctoral Fellows are well prepared to compete in the job market, including positions as an independent investigator.

Qualifications

Ph.D., DDS, DVM, JD, MD or equivalent is required.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $63,480; depending on education/qualifications/experience
