Job Summary

Working under the supervision of Professor Ken Duffy, the Department of Mathematics at Northeastern University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the design and development of mathematical, probabilistic, and statistical frameworks for drawing inferences from complex biological data in collaboration with scientists at the Snow Centre for Immune Health based at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Australia.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that has an ambitious long-term research program to decipher what factors result in good or poor immune health, transforming and accelerating personalized diagnosis and treatment for people suffering from immune diseases and dysfunction. Building on more than two decades of development stochastic models that explain the population behavior of immune cells subject to controlled stimulation, you will collaborate in research that seeks to explain the weak inheritance features of immune dysfunction in order to better inform diagnosis and treatment. A one-year post, with a possible extension to two years depending on availability of funds and sustained excellence in meeting the duties and expectations is offered.
