Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in Aesthetics
 
AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Auburn, AL. The Department of Philosophy at Auburn University invites applications for 2 postdoctoral teaching fellowships in aesthetics, beginning the 2026-2027 academic year. These fellowships are nine-month non-tenure track positions. One fellowship is a one-year position, and one fellowship is renewable for up to four years depending on performance, continued need for the position and availability of funding.
 
Review of applicants will begin April 15, 2026 and continue until position is filled.
 
Applicants will be required to attach a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, statement of teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching excellence, writing sample, and 3 letters of recommendation (at least one of which addresses candidate's teaching effectiveness). Only candidates who have uploaded all the required documents will be considered. Additional materials may be required at a later stage in the selection process.

Responsibilities:

The positions carry a teaching load of 3/3 but typically does not require more than one preparation per semester. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong research potential in aesthetics, enthusiasm to participate in the activities of the Auburn Aesthetics Forum, and interest in research collaboration with senior members of the department.   Final appointment is contingent upon funding and continued need for the position.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Philosophy is required by the time appointment begins, August 16, 2026.

Area of Specialty: Aesthetics.

Area of Competence: Open.

 

Applicants must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States by the start date and to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills are required.
