Outcome: The Machine Operator will set up and operate Horizontal pouch machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Perform mechanical adjustments, changeovers and perform preventive maintenance in a timely manner. When necessary, Maintenance support will be provided.
Job Expectations:
- Experience operating a horizontal form fill machine and high-speed equipment.
- Experience operating/calibrating and adjusting Mettler Toledo scale systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Determine the required materials, products, and resources needed.
- Read and follow job orders.
- Inspect the machine outputs for quality control.
- Provide detailed reports and logs on the work done.
- Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
- Housekeeping, sanitation and GMP compliance.
- Keep up with safety requirements and maintain a safe work setting.
Qualifications:
- Analytical, technical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team.
- 2 - 4 years of experience as a Machine Operator.
- Training and hands-on experience in safety techniques and requirements.
- Training and hands-on experience with specific machinery.
- Knowledge of various types of machinery operation.
- Trained to handle measurement devices and tools.
Physical Demands:
- Standing and walking entire shift.
- Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, grasp or touch objects and tools.
- Climbing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, reaching.
- Must be able to work in tight quarters and hard to reach area.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
