Diamond Drive, Salina, KS 67401 www.grainbeltsupply.com Job Title: Powder Coat Painter Department: Powder Reports to: Powder Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Prepared by: CDH Prepared Date: 5/8/2004 Summary Sprays powder paint on surfaces of manufactured products, such as machinery frames, tanks, custom jobs, material handling components like, but not limited to, gates, valves, ladders, cages, probes, distributors, elbows, flanges, feeders, spouts, grates, loading systems, bucket elevators, drag conveyors, and various customer supplied parts by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned by the Manager.) \- Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated. \- Notifies supervisor of cavities, dents, and other defects for repair. \- Selects powder per work order or supervisor instruction. \- Attaches powder paint to fluidizing container and connects gun to air supply. \- Selects reclaim or non-reclaim powder paint process. \- Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of powder. \- Pulls trigger and directs powder spray onto work surface to apply finish coat. \- Modifies electrostatic voltage on paint gun as required for proper powder coverage. \- Utilizes infrared preheat option by visually gauging part geometry and thickness. \- Cleans powder booth and spraying equipment after job and engages in color change preparation for the next job. \- Evaluates parts exiting oven for proper mill thickness and verifies part quality. \- Assembles parts by bolting and riveting. \- Repairs products by dismantling, straightening and reassembling parts. \- Keeps work area clean and free of dirt, debris, powder and other contaminants. \- Cross trains and works on the load-upload line as required. \- Works at different work stations as production needs require. \- Produce finished product within acceptable time standard and in conformance to company quality requirements. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ? Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. ? Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. ? Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
