Powder Coat QA and Pack-Out Associate

Can you spot a flaw at a glance?

If you can tell the difference between perfect gloss and subtle orange peel—and you care about every label and line item—this role is for you. As our Powder Coat QA and Pack-Out Associate, you’ll ensure every coated part meets spec, survives the journey, and delights the customer.

What will you do?

• Compare real parts to the job traveler and customer requirements for color, finish, and coverage.
• Check cure before handling or packing to preserve finish quality.
• Hunt for defects: runs, sags, orange peel, pinholes, fisheyes, thin coverage, poor adhesion, bare spots, color mismatch, gloss variation, and contamination.
• Flag and separate nonconforming pieces; document and route them for rework or scrap; communicate patterns to supervision.
• Handle coated parts carefully to avoid scratches, dents, or other damage.
• Build protective packaging with approved materials—foam, paper, dividers, wraps—per instructions.
• Label boxes, racks, and pallets precisely using job travelers or shipping documentation.
• Capture inspection and production data accurately.
• Keep the workspace neat and efficient using 5S principles.
• Follow all safety, quality, and powder coat handling procedures; jump in to assist with finishing or packing tasks to keep production moving.

Do you have the right background?

• A sharp eye for coating quality issues
• Comfort reading job travelers, work instructions, and packing requirements
• Basic math for counting and paperwork matching
• Attention to detail with a quality-first approach
• Reliable attendance record
• Experience in powder coating inspection, finishing, or manufacturing
• Knowledge of powder coat defects and correct handling
• Experience around racks, conveyors, or batch coating operations

Can you meet the physical demands?

• Stand for long periods
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (with or without assistance)
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions
• Bend, reach, and handle parts of varying sizes
• Maintain visual sharpness for detailed inspection

Where will you work?

• In a manufacturing environment focused on powder coating and finishing
• Around noise, moving equipment, and coated metal parts
• With required PPE: gloves, safety glasses, protective wear
• In temperatures that may vary due to ovens and shop conditions
