Powder Coat Technician

Overview: We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Powder Coat Technicians to support daily operations within our paint department. This role is responsible for preparing materials, operating powder coating equipment, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare metal parts for coating (cleaning, masking, sanding, and racking).
• Operate powder coating spray guns and related equipment.
• Monitor powder flow, air pressure, and oven temperatures to ensure proper coating and curing.
• Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, thin spots, or uneven coverage.
• Perform touch-ups or rework as necessary.
• Rack and un-rack parts from the paint line safely and efficiently.
• Package/palletize finished products according to company standards.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE (respirators, spray suits, boots, steel toes, hearing protection, gloves, eye protection).
• Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in powder coating strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and production schedules.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the day at or above shoulder level.
• Ability to bend, twist, lift as needed. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and wear a respirator.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Manual dexterity to handle parts of different shapes and sizes.

Work Environment:

• Industrial manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to heat, dust, and industrial equipment.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs at or above shoulder level consistently throughout the day.
