Description
Overview:
We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Powder Coat Technicians to support daily operations within our paint department. This role is responsible for preparing materials, operating powder coating equipment, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare metal parts for coating (cleaning, masking, sanding, and racking).
Operate powder coating spray guns and related equipment.
Monitor powder flow, air pressure, and oven temperatures to ensure proper coating and curing.
Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, thin spots, or uneven coverage.
Perform touch-ups or rework as necessary.
Rack and un-rack parts from the paint line safely and efficiently.
Package/palletize finished products according to company standards.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE (respirators, spray suits, boots, steel toes, hearing protection, gloves, eye protection).
Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
Previous experience in powder coating strongly preferred.
Ability to read and follow work orders and production schedules.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the day at or above shoulder level.
Ability to bend, twist, lift as needed. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
Ability to work in confined spaces and wear a respirator.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Manual dexterity to handle parts of different shapes and sizes.
Work Environment:
Industrial manufacturing setting.
Exposure to heat, dust, and industrial equipment.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs at or above shoulder level consistently throughout the day.
Must be able to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level.
Must be able to move objects/parts/tools and equipment from one area to another and one level to another level.
This position includes the following physical demands:
Reaching - extending and pulling the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with various tools as mentioned before.
Handling - seizing, holding, grasping, turning, pulling, or otherwise working with hands and arms.
Pulling - using arms in such a way as pulling of tools, wrenches, parts, and equipment to complete the job.
Fingering - picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling).
Feeling - being able to determine objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by means of receptors in skin, particularly those of finger tips.
