We are looking for a Powder Coat Painter to join our team. The Powder Coat Painter applies paint and other coatings to a variety of materials and surfaces. They will utilize wet, powder, conventional, and electrostatic paint equipment. We are a leader in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing.
Duties/Responsibilities.
- Perform powder coating processes in accordance with manufacturer specifications and prescribed procedures safely and with high quality standards.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Carry out other assignments or cross train and work in different departments when directed by the powder coating manager.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on the powder coating equipment as required.
- Maintain and track an accurate powder inventory. (Daily Paint Usage)
- Prepares surfaces for paint by rubbing, sanding, filling, and masking as appropriate
- Mix and apply base coat, finish coat, and texture coat materials according to specified consistency and viscosity
- Applies primer, finished and other protective coating
- Operates all paint equipment including paint ovens, spray washer, and paint pump equipment
- Checks work and identifies issues to maintain quality and safety standards
- Assist with additional projects when needed
- Any other duty as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to use handheld power tools, paint equipment, and bulky parts and assemblies
- Training in machine safety and quality awareness preferred
- Ability to read and interpret production blueprints preferred.
- Able and willing to follow both verbal and written instructions related to work and product.
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with other team members.

Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent degree required
- Two (2) years of painting preparation, touch-up, part mark, spray paint, silk-screen, or related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, unassisted.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
