The Paint Shop Technician is responsible for general labor, such as hanging, cleaning, grinding or other related manual labor work associated with the paint shop.
Duties/Responsibilities.
- Setting up and operating machines that paint or coat products
- Selecting the paint or coating needed for the job
- Cleaning and preparing products to be painted or coated
- Applying paint or coating
- Measuring the thickness of paint or coating material applied
- Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas
- Any other duty as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Interpret instructions on a work order, drawing or other related document.
Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED (equivalent).
- One (1) or more years of experience in a similar or related position in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting at a workstation or within walking distance of the station.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.
- Must be able to work in heat environment during summer months and cold environment during winter months.
