Power BI Developer

SummaryBalfour Beatty is seeking a Power BI Developer to join our team in Dallas, TX. The Power BI Developer works with a variety of internal customers to provide business intelligence support. This role requires a background in data and business analysis. The ideal candidate will be analytical and an excellent communicator.This is a hybrid position that requires working in the office three days per week and working from home two days per week.

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate across key business lines and functional stakeholders to gather requirements, design, build, test and maintain high-quality BI solutions in an enterprise data warehouse/lake environmentWork with teammates to plan mid- and long-term product and technical strategiesAssist/train citizen developers in the use of business reporting assetsDesign or enhance relational and dimensional data modelsEvaluate and improve existing BI systemsPerform data analysis, profiling, and quality assessment to ensure the integrity of business data to necessary levelsConduct unit testing and data validation of Power BI reports and data models to ensure accuracy, performance, and data integrity, while troubleshooting and resolving any discrepanciesCleanse and transform unformatted, duplicate, incomplete or outlier dataAnalyze legacy databases and data availability of other data sourcesComply with team development, IT, and company processes and policiesDevelop and update technical documentation

Requirements

5+ years of Business Intelligence Experience in a data warehouse environment3+ years of experience with Power BI3+ years of experience with T-SQL is required3+ years of experience with DAX and Power Query required

Ability to complete multiple time-sensitive tasks with competing priorities with attention to detailProven experience as a BI Developer with excellent DAX and dimensional modeling skillsProven experience of strong SQL query skills
