Power Distribution Test Technician
Step onto the test floor in Arden, NC, at Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division and own the final checkpoint before our power distribution solutions reach customers. In this Electrical Technician I role, you’ll run end-to-end functional tests, validate wiring and connections, and make sure every unit ships performing exactly as engineered.
Schedule and Pay
- Shift: 3:30pm – 2:00am
- Compensation: $26.50 per hour
Compensation reflects a general guideline; the actual rate will depend on your experience, skills, qualifications, and market/business factors.
A day in the role
- Create and execute test plans for structures, units, panels, panelboards, component parts, controls, and complete assemblies.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, insulation, and sequence testing to validate quality and functionality.
- Follow schematics, diagrams, engineered specifications, and work/test procedures to verify correct product operation.
- Pinpoint test failures, determine root causes, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and supervision to drive corrective actions.
- Confirm customer orders are complete and partner with customer inspectors during on-site testing and inspections.
- Recommend improvements to assembly, wiring, calibration, and test methods; ensure any required repairs or changes are carried out and documented.
- Maintain test equipment and calibration status; generate accurate records and reports.
- Uphold safety, PPE, hygiene, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Contribute to additional duties as needed to support the operation.
Basic qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (accredited).
- At least 2 years of experience in power distribution or electrical distribution.
- Hands-on background troubleshooting complex electrical circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

Location and mobility
- Worksite: Arden, NC (Power Distribution and Control Assemblies).
- No relocation is available for this role; only candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered.

Preferred background
- Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology/Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience interpreting schematics.
- Experience working with open and energized electrical equipment in a test environment.
