What You'll Do:
The City of High Point''s Electric Department is seeking to fill multiple Powerline Technician positions at all levels (Level I, II, and III).
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
Salary (varies depending on experience):
Powerline Technician I - $52,825.76 - $71,697.60
Powerline Technician II - $58,242.08 - $79,046.24
Powerline Technician III - $64,211.68 - $87,149.92
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School or GED equivalent.
Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
Must have general knowledge of electric line construction, maintenance and repair and the hazards encountered.
CPR and First Aid classes will be scheduled, and employee must pass and be certified within 12 months
Employee must pass and be certified on other approved courses as required, for example: Any Federal, State, County, City or Departmental requirements such as OSHA or Lineman Career Development Training within six (6) months of employment.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE BY LEVEL
Power Line Tech I - Minimum of two (2) years of Powerline Experience. (Exemption for lineworker certification from an accredited school).
Power Line Tech II - Minimum of two to five (2 - 5) years of Powerline Experience.
Powerline Tech III - Minimum of ten (10) years of Power Line experience. (NOTE: Experience may consist of a Power Line Helper, Technician I, Technician II, or some combination of those)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and the public.
PR/First Aid Certified
The work location of this job will be 816 E Green Dr High Point, North Carolina.
