Must Have Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in CPU, SoC, or platform power/performance engineering
  • Strong understanding of CPU microarchitecture (pipelines, caches, SMT, memory hierarchy)
  • Experience with performance analysis and debugging
  • Proficient in Python scripting and C/C++ programming
  • Understanding of object oriented and modular software design
 
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze CPU performance using hardware counters, profiling tools, and workloads
  • Identify and debug performance bottlenecks across CPU, memory, cache, and interconnect
  • Collaborate with SMU, BIOS, and firmware teams to tune power states (P states, C states, boost)
  • Debug power and performance issues on pre silicon and post silicon platforms
  • Execute and optimize manual and automated test plans
  • Report system behavior and user experience observations (fan noise, thermals, responsiveness)
 
Software & Tools:
  • Python, C/C++
  • Unit testing and basic test automation
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development
  • Experience with Jira or similar ticketing systems
 
Education / Experience:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Prior experience with client PC testing, validation, or debug preferred
