Department: MHN Central Utilities Plant
Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Flex
Pay: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant''s relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
Summary:
Assists in operating and maintaining central heating and cooling plant consisting of boilers, chillers, electrical generators and other auxiliary equipment necessary to produce steam, chilled water and emergency power for the hospital.
Responsibilities:
Operates and maintains boilers. Monitors appropriate meters and gauges for safe operation. Starts, stops or switches over boilers as required. Reports and logs any major repair needs and unsafe conditions. Monitors and logs gas and fuel oil levels. Monitors the operation of all other boiler room equipment as required. Follows and performs preventative maintenance schedules. Prepares boilers and related equipment for state and insurance inspections.
Operates and maintains emergency generators. Monitors and logs information from appropriate meters and gauges, including diesel fuel levels, for safe operation. Logs and reports all starts and major repair needs and unsafe condition.
Operates and maintains chillers. Monitors all appropriate meters and gauges for safe operation. Logs information. Starts, stops and switches over chillers. Reports and logs any major repair needs and unsafe conditions. Monitors cooling tower operation.
Monitors natural gas, liquid oxygen tanks and associated alarm panels.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
