Job Details

Power Studies Engineer — Houston, TX

We're one of the largest independent electrical testing and engineering firms in North America. Our Power Studies group works on complex, high-stakes projects across industrial, commercial, and utility environments — and we're adding an engineer to the team.

What You'll Do

You'll run power system studies from start to finish — short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, arc-flash, power factor correction, harmonic modeling, and grounding analysis. You'll work directly with clients to gather information and present findings, and occasionally support field teams during shutdowns, startups, and maintenance projects.

This is a technical role with real client exposure and field involvement — not a desk job.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience; power systems focus preferred
Hands-on experience with power system modeling software — SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower, or equivalent
Working knowledge of low, medium, and high-voltage systems up to 500kV
Clear, confident communication — you'll interact directly with customers and internal teams
Field experience with substations or switchgear is a strong plus
Utility design background is a bonus
Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally

Why Join Us

You'll work alongside experienced engineers on projects that range from industrial facilities to utility-scale systems, with exposure to both the analytical and field sides of the business. Real work, real clients, real impact.
