As a Master Layout Designer, you will prepare comprehensive summaries of customer specifications while driving design innovations and optimizing end products. You will be responsible for the mechanical design during order execution, focusing on detailed designs and customer documentation for tanks and externals. Imagine overseeing the construction of our new manufacturing center in Charlotte, North Carolina, while implementing cutting‑edge processes and developing a high-performance team to ensure readiness for production.How You'll Make an ImpactCollaborate with electrical, tank, and clamping designers to prepare master layouts that meet customer specifications.Analyze transport profiles and active part dimensions to define tank shape and dimensions effectively.Determine the placement of active parts, bushings, and tap changers while ensuring internal and external clearances are met.Prepare technical specifications and order tanking components, including fans, pumps, and valves.Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software to model designs, generate engineering drawings, and prepare bills of materials.What You BringA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience as a Master Layout Designer or Tank Design Engineer for power transformers above 100MVA/145kV. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level and vice versa.Strong conceptual knowledge in preparing master layouts, including defining tank shape and active part placements.Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CREO/PROe/Inventor) and 2D CAD (e.g., AutoCAD), along with experience in SAP for bill of materials.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a self-motivated approach to producing high-quality results.Effective coordination skills with sales, electrical, mechanical, and control design engineers.If not already located in Charlotte, NC, must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance may be provided).Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
