Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Operator

It’s 7:00 a.m. in Alton, IL, and the warehouse is waking up. You inspect your lift truck, verify everything passes safety checks, and glide down the aisles to stage pallets for outbound loads. By mid-morning, you’ve unloaded a trailer, reconciled inventory movements, and teamed up with peers to hit tight shipping deadlines—all while keeping safety front and center. That’s a typical rhythm for our Powered Industrial Truck Operator.

Role snapshot

• Operate forklifts to move, place, and stack materials efficiently around the warehouse.
• Load and unload trailers and containers with care and accuracy.
• Perform and document daily equipment safety inspections.
• Support inventory accuracy through careful counts and stock placement.
• Follow established safety rules and procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with teammates to achieve production targets and timelines.
• Escalate equipment issues or safety hazards to leadership immediately.

What you’ll bring

• Valid forklift operator certification (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse is a plus.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to follow standard work.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Capability to lift heavy items and handle physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Schedule flexibility, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
