Day-in-the-life: PIT Operator in Lakeville, MN

Picture your shift starting in our Lakeville, MN warehouse. You complete a quick pre-use check on your forklift, sync up with your crew, and get the day’s targets. Pallets arrive at the dock; you stage, load, and unload with precision. Between moves, you update stock counts on a workstation, keep aisles clear, and flag anything that needs attention. What you’ll do

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move products efficiently across the warehouse.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks, placing goods accurately in designated locations.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Keep work areas orderly and clean while following safety procedures and company policies.
• Support inventory control by counting, tracking, and updating stock levels.
• Partner closely with teammates to hit daily productivity goals and shipment deadlines.
• Promptly report equipment issues, near-misses, or safety concerns to leadership.

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current forklift certification or the willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Comfort lifting heavy items and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Clear communicator and collaborative team player.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and simple reporting.
