PPECC Nurse (LVN) - The Colony, 75056

A Registered Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will have at least the following qualifications and experience:

• A valid LVN license under Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 301, with no disciplinary action
• Valid certifications in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Basic First Aid; and one of the following
  • One year of pediatric specialty experience with emphasis on medically and technologically dependent minors obtained within the last consecutive five years; or
  • sufficient skills to meet the competency and training requirements.

A Licensed Vocational Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will be responsible for the following:

• maintaining compliance with the standards of nursing practice;
• providing nursing interventions that includes parental training, information, and education to increase a parent's confidence and competence in caring for a minor;
• having knowledge of access to available community resources;
• participating on the IDT and in the IDT meetings regarding a minor's plan of care and progress;
• communicating findings to a minor's prescribing physician and an RN; and
• administering medication, intravenous infusions, parenteral feeding, and other specialized treatments; monitoring and documenting the effect of medications, therapies, and progress in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice.
