We're partnering with a well-established global brand to find a Public Relations Specialist who can help elevate brand visibility and strengthen media presence across North America. This role will be responsible for developing and executing PR strategies, building relationships with key media contacts, creating compelling content, and supporting high-profile events and communications initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with experience securing earned media coverage and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in office in the Detroit metro and is offering a competitive base salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute public relations programs that increase brand awareness and support business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and other media contacts.
- Create press releases, media pitches, executive statements, award submissions, and other communications materials.
- Coordinate media outreach efforts and support press conferences, product launches, and corporate events.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and global communications teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Monitor media coverage and evaluate campaign performance, providing regular reporting and insights.
- Partner with external agencies and vendors to support PR initiatives and campaigns.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field.
- 3+ years of public relations, corporate communications, or related experience.
- Strong background in earned media and media relations-agency background would be a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop compelling content and effective PR campaigns.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional and international teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel up to as needed.
