Responsibilities

The Therapy Aide is responsible for providing assistance to physical and occupational therapists in our outpatient clinic therapy department.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provides assistance to physical and/or occupational therapists by preparing treatment areas, assisting with patient care, and performing administrative tasks.
• Performs scheduling of appointments and chart preparation.
• Exhibits an understanding of basic insurance requirements.
• Responsible for timely start of therapy sessions and clinic flow to ensure all patients receive full treatment session.
• Checks patients in, helps explain financial obligations to patients attending therapy, collects co-pays and balances due.
• Maintains patient safety, confidentiality and empathy to provide excellent customer service.
• Responsible for supply management, folding of linens, and performs cleaning and packaging of sterile instruments.
• Maintains compliance and safety to ensure a clean, safe work environment by adhering to all rules and regulations.
• Ability to take initiative, follow verbal instructions and problem-solve in fast-paced environment.
• Administers modalities per therapist guidance and instructions.
• Interest in physical and occupational therapy and/or prior medical experience preferred.

Qualifications

Education Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent

Experience Required:

• Medical experience preferred
• Background with exercise instruction desirable
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Possesses a high degree of self-motivation
