Tidewater Community College is seeking part-time Practical Nursing Education Program Instructors for the College's Beazley School of Nursing. Functional Responsibilities include providing instruction, supervision, and evaluation of student's performance in clinical and lab settings, supervising and evaluating groups of students in hospital or health care settings, understanding the objectives of the assigned course and being familiar with the nursing curriculum, maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with the clinical site, other faculty, and staff, maintaining student records, including accurate clinical hours, and meeting and communicating with students on a regular basis to provide academic feedback.
The qualifications for this wage position (education and years of experience) are aligned with the requirements of the Virginia Board of Nursing for instructors. Appropriate level of education (required): Associates degree within nursing from a regionally accredited college or university. Holds a current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia. A minimum of five (5) years recent full-time, clinical experience as a registered nurse. Medical/Surgical nursing experience is required.
