Veterinary Practice Coordinator
Pay: $22.60 - $28.85, depending on experience
 
Peoria Area Veterinary Group is seeking an experienced veterinary professional who is ready to take the next step into leadership as a Practice Coordinator. This hands-on role combines patient care, client service, team development, and operational oversight—giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the success of the hospital while continuing to work alongside the team. As a working leader, you'll spend the majority of your time supporting the hospital in a functional role while helping drive accountability, communication, and operational excellence. Position Overview
 
Our Practice Coordinators are key leaders within our hospitals, helping create an exceptional experience for patients, clients, and team members alike. As the primary leader on shift, you'll partner closely with the Practice Manager to support daily operations, coach and develop team members, address challenges, and ensure the hospital runs smoothly and efficiently. Through hands-on leadership and collaboration, you'll play an essential role in driving team success and delivering outstanding veterinary care.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Managerial:
  • Act as the primary leader on shift, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. 
  • Create schedules and manage unplanned schedule changes efficiently. 
  • Resolve issues as they arise in collaboration with the PM. 
  • Train the team on hospital guidelines and practices to ensure compliance.  
  • Partner with PM for employee relations inclusive of performance management, disciplinary actions, record keeping, confidentiality and compliance.  
  • Support team success through coaching, accountability, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Ability to lead meetings and make presentations. 
Client Management:
  • Oversee client flow to ensure clients and patients are seen and treated in a professional, timely and competent manner. 
  • Partner with clients to resolve concerns and maintain an exceptional client experience.
  • Maintenance of accurate client records.  
Organizational:
  • Partner with PM to identify areas of opportunity and develop goals and strategy for hospital growth and success.  
  • Maintenance of facility, equipment and supplies.
  • 60-80% of scheduled shifts will be in a functional role such as CSR, CrVT, or VA. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in the client service industry or veterinary experience. 
  • Must meet the qualifications required for the applicable functional role (CSR, Veterinary Assistant, or Credentialed Veterinary Technician).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite products. 
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively within a team setting. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (lift, carry and move) up to 40 pounds.
