Full Life provides individualized support for young people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), helping them grow independence and engage in community life. With offices in Hilo and Kona, our team has spent more than 20 years building a trusted, supportive environment for youth and families.


Position: Pre-ETS Student Support Provider

Full Life Hawaii is seeking Pre-ETS Student Support Providers for two 4-week Summer Transition Camps designed to prepare students with disabilities for employment and independent living through hands-on learning and essential job skill development.

In this role, you will support youth ages 14–21 in building skills that promote future employment, independence, and community engagement. You will work in both school-based and community settings to help students explore career pathways, develop real-world skills, build confidence, and prepare for life after high school.


What You'll Do / Day-to-Day
Typical responsibilities include:

  • Job/Career Exploration Counseling: Supporting students in identifying strengths, interests, and potential career pathways
  • Counseling on Postsecondary Opportunities: Assisting with planning for education, training, and vocational programs
  • Self-Advocacy Training: Helping students build communication, confidence, and decision-making skills
  • Workplace Readiness Training: Teaching social, professional, and independent living skills
  • Work-Based Learning Experiences: Supporting hands-on job training opportunities in community settings
  • Work alongside Pre-ETS Specialists to support student learning activities
  • Help maintain a safe and supportive environment at the Hilo site and during off-site community or business-based activities

Who We're Looking For
We welcome candidates who are passionate about working with youth and making a difference. Ideal candidates are:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school seniors (18+) and college students are welcome to apply
  • No degree required
  • Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting youth
  • Strong communicators who can connect with students, families, and team members
  • Organized and adaptable in a dynamic environment
  • Available Monday-Friday, with flexibility for occasional community-based activities; some Saturday shifts may be available
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred)

Duration
June 1 - July 30, 2026. Some candidates may be able to start earlier, with potential opportunities to continue beyond July.

This role may have the opportunity to continue beyond the summer on a reduced schedule (approximately 10 hours per week), depending on program needs and performance.
