    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Responsible for pre-finishing doors using paint or stain in a spray booth in accordance with customer specifications and established company quality standards. Adherence to company policies, rules, and regulations in all areas is required, including but not limited to environmental, health, safety, and security.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Carefully inspect doors for defects and irregularities prior to staining or painting.
    • Work in a spray booth and ensure proper application of paint or stain in accordance with company guidelines and customer specifications.
    • Ensure stains and paints are applied correctly and meet established quality standards.
    • Clean tools thoroughly after use to maintain functionality and safety.
    • Communicate with fellow employees as necessary to monitor and direct workload to ensure smooth operation and proper product flow.
    • Remove dust from doors using tack cloth and air gun as necessary prior to staining or painting.
    • Inspect all finished products for defects or irregularities and perform touch-ups as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate paint inventory, using older stock before newer stock, and report discrepancies.
    • Sign off and complete appropriate paperwork at the completion of each job.
    • Notify the supervisor of equipment malfunctions or issues.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Technical expertise and knowledge of company products.
    • Familiarity with door components, assembly techniques, and finishing products.
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency.
    • Comfortable wearing a mask and other protective equipment for safety while working with paint and stain.
    • Basic analytical, reasoning, and math abilities.
    • Automotive spray gun experience is required.
    • Basic verbal communication skills.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • High School diploma or GED and two years of related experience in painting or staining with spray equipment.
