Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Early Childhood Training: A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or at least 9 semester hours of college coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
- Age: At least 19 years old.
- Experience: Typically requires at least 12 months of experience in an early childhood or OSR-approved setting. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Essential Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Work directly with individuals and small groups to reinforce concepts introduced by the lead teacher.
- Classroom Operations: Assist in preparing instructional materials, setting up learning centers, and maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
- Assessments: Help the lead teacher observe and document student progress using early learning assessment tools.
- Student Well-being: Assist students with personal care routines, meals, and transitions.
- Family Engagement: Encourage parental involvement and maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information
Terms & Compensation
- Schedule: 9-month position (187 DAYS) following the local school system's academic calendar.
- Status: Classified, non-exempt.
- Salary: Established Auxiliary Teacher salary schedule.
