JOB DESCRIPTION: PER-K AIDE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have nine (9) hours of early childhood education college course-work or a Child Development Associate (CDA)
  • credentialed through Council of Professional Recognition or an Early Childhood Education Associate degree or an Associate degree in Child Development

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and managing small groups

  • Ensure child safety and promote positive social interactions throughout the day
  • Help organize classroom materials and learning centers
  • Support observations and documentation of children's development as directed by lead teacher
  • Help with daily cleaning and organizing of the learning environment
  • Complete required OSR professional development hours (at least 20 annually)
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Note: This position is funded by a grant. Therefore, tenure cannot be gained in this position.
