Job Goal
To work collaboratively in a co-teaching developmentally appropriate learning environment with a lead teacher as assigned to address Pre-Kindergarten Readiness Developmental Standards in compliance with the Office of School Readiness (OSR) Program and Classroom Guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with the general supervision of students both inside and outside the classroom to maintain a 9-1 ratio for instruction during all parts of the day maintaining safety procedures with district policies and following all OSR guidelines. Participates in co-planning and teaching of effective lesson plans and instructional activities utilizing the adopted curriculum for pre-kindergarten students. Works directly with students in small group, individually, and in whole group settings to administer lesson plans, provide instructional assistance, provide back and forth language, and reinforce mastery of developmental standards. Prepares, secures, and arranges materials, equipment, and resources needed for instructional use; assists in maintaining a clean and organized learning environment. Participates in data collection and student assessment. Assists with OSR required monthly paperwork. Attends a minimum of 20 hours of annual professional development to maintain quality teaching standards as required by OSR guidelines. Attends new teacher development professional development to include Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment, Conscious Discipline, Second Step, Heggerty, and Creative Curriculum. Maintains a high level of ethical and professional standards as expected of all personnel (e.g., appearance, interactions, and attendance). Assists students with accessing the use of technology. Participates to ensure that all children have met their goals for individualized learning apps. Works directly with students on an individual or group basis as assigned and directed by the assigned teacher in order to administer lesson plans, provide instructional assistance, and reinforce mastery of developmental standards. Participates in the development and planning of effective lesson plans, instructional activities, and class assignments for pre-kindergarten students under the direction of the assigned teacher. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications A Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential OR a minimum of nine (9) hours of course work in Early Childhood or Child Development.
Physical Requirements Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
Terms of Employment Nine month year. Salary as recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
