Position Summary

The Instructional Coach partners with Pre-K teachers to improve instructional practices, classroom management, and student engagement. The Instructional Coach provides coaching on The Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and Conscious Discipline to support academic and social-emotional development while promoting data-driven, developmentally appropriate instruction

What You''ll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)

Instructional Coaching and Teaching Support

  • Builds strong relationships with teachers to support instructional practices using Creative Curriculum and research-based early childhood strategies.
  • Provides coaching on classroom management through Conscious Discipline, focusing on community-building, self-regulation, and safe, connected environments.
  • Models lessons aligned to Creative Curriculum with intentional practices across developmental domains.
  • Uses a non-evaluative coaching approach to promote teacher reflection, self-assessment, and planning.
  • Conducts observations using Teaching Strategies GOLD to inform feedback and improvement.
  • Delivers real-time coaching to strengthen interactions, classroom environments, and use of interest areas.
  • Supports a culture of professional growth, encouraging reflective practice and continuous

improvement in both instruction and social-emotional support.

Student Engagement & Instructional Best Practices

  • Supports teachers in differentiating instruction based on Teaching Strategies GOLD data to

meet the needs of all learners.

  • Guides the implementation of Creative Curriculum components, including studies, daily

routines, and intentional teaching experiences.

  • Promotes the use of Conscious Discipline structures such as greeting rituals, Safe Place,

and problem-solving strategies to increase student engagement and independence.

  • Encourages collaborative teaching models, including co-teaching, peer observations, and

professional learning communities (PLCs).

  • Identifies and promotes model Pre-K classrooms that demonstrate high-quality

implementation of curriculum, assessment, and social-emotional practices.

Professional Development & Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Leads teacher coaching cycles, workshops, professional development, and PLC meetings

focused on:

  • Creative Curriculum lesson planning and implementation
  • Teaching Strategies GOLD documentation, assessment, and checkpoint ratings
  • Conscious Discipline practices for social-emotional development
  • Assists educators in using Teaching Strategies GOLD data and portfolios to inform

instruction, individualize learning, and develop intervention plans.

  • Provides training on aligning daily instruction with Missouri Early Learning Standards through curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Supports curriculum coordinators in refining instructional frameworks aligned to early

childhood best practices.

  • Helps teachers integrate evidence-based instructional and social-emotional strategies into daily classroom routines.
  • Analyzes and displays classroom and program-level Teaching Strategies GOLD data.
  • Works closely with school and district leadership to align coaching practices with Early

Learning goals and initiatives.

  • Participates in curriculum planning meetings related to Creative Curriculum implementation

and alignment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

To Be Successful in This Role, You''ll Need: (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of classroom teaching experience in a public school setting OR three (3) years

of professional experience in a corporate setting with supplemental certified teaching

experience.

  • Valid Missouri teaching certificate.
  • Experience implementing Creative Curriculum and/or other early childhood curriculum models.
  • Knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD or similar assessment systems.
  • Experience supporting classroom management and student engagement using social-emotional learning frameworks such as Conscious Discipline.
  • Proficiency in educational technology tools and data-driven instruction.

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Administrative Certification or In Progress.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or training early childhood educators in a professional development setting.
  • Deep knowledge of Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and Conscious

Discipline implementation.

  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and best practices in professional development for early childhood education.

Physical Demands:

This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds. Job requires the employee occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Terms of Employment:

Length of work year: In person, 185 days, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
