Pre-Kindergarten Classroom Teacher
Reports directly to the building-level principal and Pre-K Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher's License (Early Childhood Preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, and parents
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to motivate students and get them excited about learning
Essential Functions:
- Implement the assigned program of study (Mississippi Early Learning Standards for Four-Year-Old Children)
- Fosters an early childhood classroom climate conducive to learning,
- Utilizes early childhood instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task
(CLASS, MDE Standard 17.2)
- Monitors student progress towards achieving developmental/instructional competencies and standards
- Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis
- Meets professional responsibilities including any appointed committee selections
- Maintains and upgrades professional skills (minimum of 15 hours of Early Childhood professional development yearly)
- Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
- Adheres to the teacher code of conduct
- Responsible for Pre-K classroom and motor room fixed asset inventory
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and the building-level principal and pre-k coordinator
- Timely reporting of student data (Brigance, MKAS2, RTI process, grades, absences, etc.)
- Adheres to the teacher code of ethics
Other Functions:
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of instruction by the assigned building-level principal.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by the School Board
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building-level administration with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel utilizing PROFESSIONAL GROWTH SYSTEM guidelines.
