Pre-Kinder/PPCD Instructional Classroom Assistant
The position of a Pre-Kinder/PPCD Instructional Classroom Assistant will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE: Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Must have one of the following:
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience related to working with young children.
Desire to work with students with severe disabilities.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with other employees, parents, and students.
Must perform duties with a minimum of supervision.
Oral and written proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
Must meet requirements of Family Services Certification.
EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping. Moderate walking. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards.
