Primary Purpose:
Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction to Pre-Kindergarten 3 students to ensure their academic, social, emotional, and physical development in accordance with Sheldon ISD standards and the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required early childhood or PK3 certification
ESL certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons based on the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.
Create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters independence and early learning.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including English Learners and students with special needs.
Implement strategies that promote language, literacy, mathematics, social studies, science, fine arts, physical development, and social-emotional growth.
Use data to monitor student progress, drive instruction, and provide interventions when needed.
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents through conferences, newsletters, and other means to support student learning and development.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessment data, and anecdotal notes.
Collaborate with campus staff, interventionists, and administrators to ensure student success.
Participate actively in campus professional development, staff meetings, and grade-level planning.
Adhere to Sheldon ISD policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of instructional materials and classroom supplies.
Ability to supervise students indoors and outdoors during instructional and non-instructional times.
Salary commensurate with experience
Works 187 Day Calendar
Starting Salary is $67,200 for fully certified teachers
Position cannot be performed remotely
