A highly regarded law firm in the Denver Tech Center area has an immediate opening for a Pre-Litigation Paralegal to join their collaborative team of legal professionals. The ideal candidate will have at least 4-5 years of recent personal injury pre-litigation experience in Colorado. This position requires empathy and patience when dealing with injured clients and the tenacity and expertise to assist in all aspects of pre-litigation case management.
Responsibilities:
Regular calls with clients to verify treatment progress, ongoing complaints, and treatment providers. Assist with referrals and setting up treatment liens if needed.
Communicate with insurance adjusters. Provide timely treatment updates, send bills for payment, and respond to requests for documents and information.
Communicate with lien companies, health insurance companies, and medical providers.
Order and summarize all medical records and bills.
Verify any outstanding balances with medical providers.
Monitor client's medical expenses and input payments and outstanding balances in case management software and billing summaries.
Prepare demand letters.
Prepare settlement disbursement statements.
Request lien ledgers and compare to case-related medical bills. Request removal of unrelated medical bills if necessary.
Case-specific tasks as assigned by attorneys.
Qualifications:
At least 4-5 years of personal injury pre-litigation experience at a Colorado law firm.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work autonomously
Deadline and detail-oriented
Must currently reside in the Denver metro area. Out-of-state candidates will not be considered.
This position offers a salary of $70,000 - $80,000+ depending on experience and a comprehensive benefits package including:
