The OpportunityExpanding Personal Injury Law Firm has an immediate opening for a Pre‑Litigation Paralegal / Operations Assistant in our Baton Rouge office. We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide extraordinary customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with third parties on their behalf.This is an ideal position for a genuine and hospitable individual with the skills to effectively communicate with people of all cultures and backgrounds. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity. A successful candidate will be detail‑oriented, as maintaining accurate case files is a primary day‑to‑day function. Success in this role will also require strong oral communication, phone etiquette, and guest relations skills, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of firm matters through the entire Pre‑Litigation phase. We desire someone who is cheerful, enthusiastic, and solution‑driven to ensure the client experience journey is aligned with our Core Values, as well as to provide operational support for the day‑to‑day office functions.ObjectiveServe clients and support the case‑handling attorney during the Pre‑Litigation phase of all assigned matters. Provide support for the day‑to‑day operations of the firm in accordance with Laborde Earles Core Values.Desired Outcomes / ResponsibilitiesAccountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with any third parties on their behalf.Contact clients at minimum every 20 days to give case updates and check in with client regarding:How they are doing and if there is anything else we can do to assist them;Status of medical treatment;Satisfaction with Laborde Earles' handling of the case.Contact third parties such as medical providers and insurance companies on behalf of the client.Accountable to ensure that all matters assigned are handled as quickly, accurately, and thoughtfully as possible from case sign‑up through settlement.Follow the Litify Matter Plan for each matter assigned and complete each task timely, accurately, and completely.Ensure all data is properly and accurately entered into case management software (Litify).Organize, save, and file all matter‑related documents.Draft, save, mail, fax, and/or email correspondence and supporting documents.Keep track of cases expenses, including copy and postage charges, entering into case management software (Litify) for each client.Accountable to provide handling attorney support as requested and as outlined in case management software (Litify) tasks.Timely response and completion of tasks assigned by handling attorney.Timely completion of all case management software (Litify) Matter Plan tasks.Accountable to provide general office support.Welcome clients, vendors, job applicants, and other visitors in a warm and friendly manner as soon as they arrive and connect them with the appropriate party.Offer visitors a refreshment while they wait.Ensure that front area is covered when stepping away from lobby.Contact and meet with clients as directed, such as new clients/intakes.Process incoming/outgoing mail.Maintain cleanliness and organization of conference room(s), lobby, and other common areas, especially before and after meetings.Maintain cleanliness and stock of kitchen, restroom, and other common areas.Assist with purchasing office supplies from vendors as needed for restrooms, copy rooms, offices, and other general areas of the firm.Assist with keeping a neat and organized inventory of all office supply items and have them stocked appropriately including copy paper and toner for all printers.Assist with tracking inventory of coffee supplies, drinks, snacks, etc. and purchases based on the approved purchase list.Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment, small furniture, and supplies.Notify staff of courthouse closures.Additional projects as assigned by Operations Team Lead or Leadership Team.Skills / AbilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyConfidentiality and strong judgmentProblem analysis and problem‑solvingProfessionalismWillingness to perform any/all tasks as assigned by handling attorney, supervisor and/or firm leadership in support of the firm's growth and successEducation And ExperienceCollege degree preferredProficient in data entry and managementPrevious experience within legal, medical, or insurance industryStrong computer and keyboarding experiencePhysical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesBenefitsOptional company‑wide events such as Crawfish Boils, Christmas parties, Retreats, and more.Work‑life balance is encouraged as we consider 36.5 hours your full‑time requirement and we rarely exceed a 40‑hour workweek.Celebration of life's moments with you from birthdays, work anniversaries to marriages and births, as well as support when the going gets tough from procedures/hospitalizations to loss of a loved one.Collaboration and team member rapport is cheered and emboldened.Competitive benefits upon eligibility waiting periods:Company‑paid Short‑term disability & Life/AD&DHealth, vision, dental, long‑term disability, critical illness, and additional life insurance policies upon eligibility waiting periods401(k) upon eligibility waiting periodsPTO, paid holidays (10), and paid maternity leaveHealth Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), including dependent careEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Company OverviewWe are a team and community‑oriented personal injury law firm dedicated to winning for our clients who have had their lives turned upside down from injuries through no fault of their own.
