About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

We're looking for a Security & Compliance Architect to support sales to the Department of War/Department of Defence , as well as other national security and defense agencies. This is a highly technical, customer-facing pre-sales role where most of the impact comes directly from helping defense customers securely adopt Salesforce's PaaS and SaaS offerings.

The ideal candidate has a strong desire to combine technical depth with sales skill - the ability to solicit business requirements, build a technical sales strategy, and demonstrate solutions that deliver real business value, often via configuration or light coding tailored to the audience.

The role works with sales teams and DOW/DOD customers to:

  • Understand a customer's risk, security, or compliance concerns and communicate how Salesforce's infrastructure, architecture, and application features address them

  • Apply deep knowledge of DOW-specific cyber and information security frameworks - including the DOW Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CSP SRG), DFARS Cyber Clauses, CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification), NIST SP 800-171, and FedRAMP - alongside broader frameworks like NIST CSF and ISO 27001/27002

  • Advise on Impact Level (IL4/IL5) authorization requirements and GCC High interoperability considerations relevant to defense and national security environments

  • Work with technical organizations within Salesforce - Technology Compliance, Technology & Product, and Engineering teams - to represent DOW/DOD requirements

  • Maintain a strong understanding of network security, cryptography, data-in-transit protections, and other technical topics needed for IT/CIO-level conversations with defense stakeholders

  • Partner with sales teams to remove security as a blocker by engaging CISOs, CIOs, RMF Authorizing Officials, and other key decision makers

  • Track emerging cybersecurity risks and DOW/DOD policy changes (e.g., CMMC Phase II developments) and translate them into customer-ready guidance

  • Scale the role through internal and external education - publishing enablement materials and leading hands-on technical workshops

Your Impact

  • Present Salesforce's cloud infrastructure and security stack, including GovSlack/Missionforce capabilities relevant to DOW/DOD missions

  • Build and present customized demos for defense and national security use cases

  • Represent Salesforce in DOW/DOD RFI and policy engagement (e.g., CMMC reform submissions)

  • Feed customer requirements back to Product Managers and Marketers to shape roadmap

  • Build deep, trusted-advisor relationships with defense agency and contractor stakeholders

  • Help customers understand how Salesforce meets DOW security and compliance mandates

  • Be comfortable engaging clients at every level, from technical staff to CIO/CTO

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science required (B.S., Master's, or Ph.D.)

  • Proven Solution Engineering / pre-sales experience or equivalent (IT, product management, consulting) in a security or compliance-focused role

  • Working knowledge of DOW/DOD compliance frameworks: DOD CSP SRG, DFARS, CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, FedRAMP, DoDI 8510

  • Understanding of SaaS, multi-tenancy, and multi-tiered infrastructure architecture

  • Understanding of security processes and standards used in multi-tenant web applications (SSO, OAuth, SAML, field-level encryption, etc.)

  • Solid grasp of network, application, and information security principles

  • Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain any government clearance/suitability determinations required for DOW/DOD customer engagement

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically to customer sites

Preferred Certifications

  • CISSP

  • Registered DOD Risk Management Framework Practitioner (RDRP)

  • CCSP

  • CEH

  • ECSA

  • GSNA

  • GCIH

  • CISA

This candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship and agrees to complete a U.S. federal government Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position.
