ABOUT THE ROLE

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads production planning, staffing, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet business goals and customer demands. Reporting to senior leadership, the Operations Manager ensures operational performance aligns with safety, quality, and profitability standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure efficient and effective production
  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet delivery and customer requirements
  • Monitor workflows and adjust operations to maintain quality and productivity
  • Lead, train, and develop plant personnel to build a strong, capable workforce
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Implement and maintain quality control systems and resolve production issues
  • Manage plant budgets and control operational costs
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to support operations
  • Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior leadership

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader with a strong background in manufacturing or precast production environments. They are highly organized, results-driven, and skilled at managing people, processes, and performance simultaneously. This individual leads with accountability, promotes a strong safety and quality culture, and is focused on continuous improvement and long-term operational success.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred (not required)
  • 5–7+ years of experience in plant operations or manufacturing leadership
  • Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and safety practices
  • Proven leadership and team development experience
  • Ability to manage budgets and drive cost efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with production management systems or related software
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
  • Valid driver’s license required with ability to operate a motor vehicle

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors year-round
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
